Barbara "betrayed" her brothers when she went to run Cavour 1880, the caffè - pasticceria in Bergamo Alta, one of the Locali Storici d'Italia (Historical Places of Italy) and a traditional meeting place for food lovers from Bergamo and further afield. A culinary treasure-trove of confectionary in the heart of the old town, famous not only for the sweet and savoury masterpieces by Da Vittorio but also for the sweet (and never was the term more appropriate!) and gentle welcome that Barbara affords her customers, whatever their age. On a curious note: Barbara’s husband, Simone Finazzi, is Pastry Chef at Da Vittorio.
